I was fortunate to visit the LOTV HQ for the 10th birthday celebrations recently, I came home with a fair amount of stash but more inspiration than I could store in my little brain. This is an abundance of pretty flowers, the papers are from a Nitwits collection of Papers - Promises - from LOTV. Background created with TH Distress Inks
Broken China - Sky

One for the Boys

Don't the weeks just fly by? Here I am again, posting for the CD Sunday challenges  Team B, and it seems as if Woah! how did that come round so quick. Well here it is, the challenge for the next week, will be
One for the Boys. I often hear how card makers  do find making making men's cards so difficult. I personally have never experienced this problem, maybe because of the number of males in the family and extended families, we females are greatly in the minority. I do find with the variety and number  of CDs available nowadays, there is a mountain of wonderful material out there to choose from. I chose 'The Great Outdoors' from Card Creations Plus. The papers and images are all from this CD. This card would be perfect for a 'twitcher'. I added leaves for more interest, these were from using off cuts from the background with leaves from Sheena Douglas stamps. The shape of the card is from a template from Fabulous Fashion CD from Katy Sue Designs. Have fun everyone, so many possibilities for One for the Boys, enjoy.

One outdoor sport which is greatly loved in the UK,but is not featured often on cards, is Cricket. I was fortunate to purchase these cricket stamps at less than half price at a store I recently visited.
My Ingredients are.........
Scalloped Kraft card for the base
White card, coloured with TH Distress Inks Mowed Lawn and Peeled Paint, edged with a black marker.
Varied cricket stamps, stamped on the background, with Memento ink.

# 79 Animals

At Ruby's Rainbow for the next two weeks Shaz leader of the DT has chosen for the challenge Animals. there are no specific requests or guidelines, so come on you have the world of Animals to choose from. I do hope folk will bear in mind that birds and butterflies are NOT animals, but I bet we see quite a number appearing.  How do I know this, I nearly made a card with an owl on it. He He.  Here is my card with a small matching gift bag, suitable for lots of little surprises. The papers and images are from a beautiful CD from Creative Crafting World - Pollyanna Pickering - British Wildlife. Embellishments from the CD plus a few Card Candi added. have fun. Nautical Challenge

We had lots of lovely entries last week at Cardz 4 Guyz, I hope this week's challenge will be as popular.
Helen from the DT has chosen Nautical - of ships and the sea . Lots of options open for this one.  I decided to go a little grungy with my card, which is based on a Kraft card, with navy blue and red card for contrast. I stamped onto the same Kraft card with TH Distress ink Chipped Sapphire.
Stamps used - Script , Anchor, Lighthouse -  Europe Map - Creative Expressions  various sets.
I achieved the distressed edges by running a pair of open scissors along the edge of the card, messy but good fun. I hope you have fun creating your card. I look forward to seeing you over on the main blog, your project can be for any age group, but of course, must be for MALE gender. See you there.

Numbered Birthday

Hello everyone, for the next two weeks at Fantasy Stampers we would like to see a project, remember it can be anything you wish it to be, with a number on for a birthday - Numbered Birthday being the challenge.  I recently bought these Sugar Buttons stamps from the designer herself, Karthryn Sturrock,  at a craft event, a really genuine nice lady. I used Promarkers to colour. The greeting is from a sentiment set again from Sugar Buttons. The card, mirri card, and background card are all from stash. The number is from a Number stamps set, I have no idea of it's source. I am a long serving stamper, I have always said, 'I don't do cute', yet the time comes when the cute just has to be made. This will shock a lot of visitors to my blog, but I am going to the 10th birthday celebrations of Lili of the Valley at Leeds, today, Saturday. So if your there please say hi, so watch this space, more cute to come I suspect!. You don't of course have to be cute for the challenge, any age, male or female, a special event, anything which will show a number. Have fun, I look forward to visiting you over the next two weeks.

Bingo for Guyz

Middle column,  Brads, Image and Blue.H
Hi everyone, another week later and we at Cardz 4 Guyz are looking forward to our next challenge.
Janice in the US, has created a Bingo board for us to follow, see main blog, we are to choose a line, any line, in any direction, make a project with the three elements on the line. Your not supposed to use any of the remaining elements, that's the hard part, but bingo card challenges an be good fun. I find they help me get out of any current rut I many be in. You now how sometimes we sail on by making similar cards, but Bingo can break that habit, which is positive. Now eyes down and choose your winning line.
From the first moment I saw these pop up cards, I knew I would be wanting to make as many as I can think of for different occasions, because they are so universal. Last week, my card class ladies, wanted something different from a normal card, no pressure then!  I searched on You Tube,  found a template and I made several, some have already been sent in the post, for birthdays, I have a request for a Ruby Wedding celebration. Endless possibilities and so much easier than they first appear to be.  The stamped image of the Doctor is Toby from Crafty Sentiments, the flowers are all from Sheena Douglas Floral and Flower Power stamps sets. The papers are from a pack I from Sweet Pea. The stars were produced with a Fiskars punch.
Looking forward to see which Bingo line you use and how you use it. Have fun.

Ribbon, Lace and Gems

Hello from Team B, here we are again, at CD Sunday Challenges, Wendy has chosen for us a combination
of delights. - - - - Ribbon,  Lace and Gems... A good choice, my first thought of the combined words was pink and pretty, hence my card above. Those who know me in the crafting and blogging sectors know I am not a pink and pretty designer, however needs must and of course when I step out of my comfort zone, I always end up having a great time and enjoying the pink and pretty.
The card was created using the Here Come The Girls CD from  Creative Crafting World.
The lace ( great bargain from Boyes Store, only 40p .) ribbon, gems and glitter from my stash.
I am looking forward to visiting you all, to see your creations for
Ribbon, Lace and Gems
