Round Again at CD Sunday Challenges

Hello again, here at CD Sunday Challenges, still going for two week themes for the summer, are asking for a project which is going Round Again or  Re-Cycled.  For me the actual main body of this card, has been used earlier, for a card for my husband, but I decided to re- use it, with of course a different topper and design. The decoupaged topper is waste from a print out, not a re-cycle but a use up, waste cut offs, which I should do more often. I have a box of them, waiting for that 'one day'! My greetings label is also a lift off from a previous card, along with the pretty button. Do look on the blog to see how the DT have inspired you with their Round Again projects. I'm looking forward to visiting you. Take care everyone and have fun.

Christmas in June

I know, Christmas in June,  I hear you say. Then again why not? So here we go at My Time To Craft  for the next two weeks, yes for the summer we are going fortnightly, our theme is Chistmas in June. Please pop over to the blog to see the wonderful inspiration from the Design Team.  Have fun everyone and go on, dig out the Christmas Card making box. For my card, I used paper from Papermania Festive Spots and Stripes pack. A Doily, ivy leaves, paper roses, white lace and green ribbon with a diamante ribbon slider. Greetings labels from LOTV  - Set 32 Christmas Sentiment Tags, I love them, I guess they will be on every Christmas card I make this year. The image is of course LOTV - A Christmas Dance, coloured with Promarkers, a Quickie  glue pen, with Glamour Dust sprinkled for her fur trims and the snow. I am looking forward to visiting you to see your early Christmas cards. Have fun and stay well.

Stamping at Ruby's Rainbow

Hello, and welcome to my visitors, every individual visitor makes having a blog all worthwhile, but when you leave a comment, well, you have no idea how happy and upifting it is, unless of course, you too have a blog. For the next two weeks at  Ruby's Rainbow the theme is STAMPING. Come on ladies, let us see your stamping.  Please do pop over to see the wonderful samples from the Design Team. My card was made for the challenge in the Shabby Chic style, yet the topper started out as a tutorial at my card class.  I had a request to show how to use Flowersoft, which has been sprinkled on the baskets on the bike. The bike is a Katy Sue Designs stamp, one of their very first stamps, so I suppose it could now be called an antique stamp, but I still love it, it is so useful and versatile. The topper was coloured using Promarkers. The papers are a mixture from my stash. Embellishments consist of hessian, pretty flowery cotton ribbon, handmade flowers, Martha Stewart leaf punch. I look forward to seeing your stamping, enjoy the challenge and again, thank for popping by.
I am also entering these challenges

Sweet Stamps - Summer
Cheerful Stamp Pad - Weekend Activities

~Sport time at Cardz 4 Guyz

At Cardz 4 Guyz for the next week we have for our theme - SPORT - Julie has chosen this for us, at this apt time, with so many major sporting events being held over the summer  months. As long it is a project related to a sport and for a male person then why not enter. I made my card with a decoupaged image from the Fabulous Fellas CD by Katy Sue Designs. I matted the image onto patterned papers with a Baseball design, bringing together the UK and US sports. I also constructed the card below, using the decoupage image and the template from the same CD. If you look closely I added a brad for a door handle and the numbers 25 on the door, of course you could add any numbers, for maybe someone's age. It was fun making so I thought I woudl share it with you.

Here Comes Summer

Stamp used is  Grasses from Woodware Stamps
At Fantasy Challenges you will find for the next two weeks our challenge which is 'Here Comes Summer'. So many choices for you with this theme. Here in the NE of England, the summer has been with us for a week or so, today is no exception. I am only hoping over the neaxt two weeks it stays warm and sunny for Wimbledon. I made my card with the memories of long warm sunny walks in the countryside, minutes from my door. I stamped the entrire background with a Versamark pad. I added mica powder in stripes. I then stamped with Versamark onto the background, which lifted mica powder off with the stamp, which gives a soft shadow effect. I then lightly sprayed from a distance with  cheap hair spray. When completley dry, left aside for a few days, I finally stamped the same stamp slightly away from the previous impression, this time using a black Memento ink pad. The sentiment is from Hobby Art. I look forward to visiting your creations over the next two weeks, enjoy the summer weather wherever you may be. Have fun.

J is for Jingle Bells

At  Alphabet Challenges we are now letter J, which is to be Jingle Bells. It doesn't have to be for Christmas. Bells are rung for many other occasions during the year. I am saying this and yet, yes, I went for the obvious.
I have only recently got the Shawn Jenkins Collection CD from Ooh! La! La! Creations. Once I saw this iamge it was a no brainer to be making a card for the challenge. The background paper is from the same disc. I used a Kraft card rather than a white one. The ribbon tied into a bow to decorate along with  a few card candi. I am looking forward to visiting you over the next few weeks. I hope you can continue to enjoy the summer we are experiencing in UK at present.

Happy Anniversary

For our theme this week at Cardz 4 Guyz we are celebrating - a Happy Anniversary - .My card is more CAS than I normally make but I needed to jump out of my comfort box again.  I  found I was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest. I have used papers from a Generations Stackers - Natural Colours Block, punched the larger hearts with a Fiskars Scissor punch, (love it!)  The smaller hearts were stamped using a heart in the Woodware Baby Patch Elephant stamp set. Black ribbon from stash. Greeting stamp from a free set with a magazine. i do hope ypu pop over to the blog, we have been going now for almost six months and it is wonderful when we have new and following visitors popping by. A D.L Card

For the next two weeks at My Time To Craft we are challenging you to make a D.L card. A what? Do I hear you say? At one time DL cards were very popular in the UK but seem to have fallen out of favour, I would like to see them around again. What is a DL? I have heard varied explanations but for me it is simply - Double the Length, My card measures 3.5 inches wide so is 7 inches long. You can also make them smaller or bigger, as long as the length is double the width. They can be used either portrait or landscape wise.  I used Craftwork Cards papers from their Vogue collection. I added from my stash, a button, a few hat pins and some lace. These cards are neat and easy to make and yet I think look elegant. If this is your first DL, I hope you enjoy and if not then you will hopefully regain the pleasure of using one again. I look forward to visiting you, please pop and see the DL cards made by the DT they are amazing, so creative.

Flora or Fauna

For the next two weeks we at Ruby's Rainbow are challenging you to an old favourite, Flora or Fauna.
Flowers are always a very happy choice and from what I've read and been told, the most popular theme on any bought , sent and made greetings card. They do fit all occasions and there are so many different ways to present floral cards. I decided to use one of my lovely LOTV floral stamps, I chose the foxgloves, such pretty colours. I used my Aquamarkers  to water -colour the image, which I greatly enjoyed, so peaceful and relaxing. The background papers are also from LOTV - Promises as is the greeting stamp. All of the embellishments, lace, punched border, small flowers, stamped butterflies,  leaves and metal corner are all from my craft stash.  Have fun, I suspect this is going to be a busy two weeks at Ruby's Rainbow, please pop over to the blog to see the wonderful array of flowers from the Design Team.

LOTV Challenge

For June the challenge at LOTV  Challenges is Male or Sporty.  I was very lucky to have recently visited the HQ of LOTV for their 10th birthday bash, where I bought this little chappie which is called  'Man's Best Friend'. I used papers from LOTV Country Gent, the greeting from Set 39 Everyday Grungy Messages. I added some mesh and buttons to embellish. I stamped the image with Vintage Photo and water brushed it to a lovely Sepia finish which sadly does not show as true a colour as it is in real life. I do like the sepia finish with these stamps.

Father's Day at C4G

In the UK and I believe the US Father's Day is on June 15th, so we have time to make the all important card for the main guy in all little girl's lives, whoever he may be. We at Cardz 4 Guyz are frequently making cards for males, but we do understand there are many who find it difficult, please follow us and I am sure you will learn a few hints, tips and tricks along the way. For my card I used a purchased Kraft card for the main body. I used papers from LOTV - Nitwits Collection - Petal Fresh Paper Pad, matted onto  pieces of kraft card. The lighthouse is from a HobbyArt stamp collection - Coast. It is so easy to make bunting which is the in thing at present, and even looks good on male cards,  this bunting was cut from napkins I brought home from the LOTV 10th Anniversary party. Garden twine with a couple of knots for the connection to the sea.
I will be entering my card into the following challenges . Thanks to everyone who visits me and leaves a comment, which as always is greatly appreciated :-

At the Seaside

Oh! I do like to be beside the seaside. Memories of my childhood, my children's and grandchildren's childhoods, There is nothing like being 'At the Seaside' - so many happy summer memories, which  is why I chose this for this week's theme at CD. Sunday Challenges. I do hope you will pop over to see the stunning projects from the Design Team. Our main rule is you must use at least something from a CD and name which CD you used. Easy as that. For my card, I made it into an easel card for added interest. The image and most of the papers are from 'La Pashe - Best of 2012', sorry, I know again, but it is a powerful source for images.
I added some Frantage and a small starfish from my stash. I hope you can see the decoupaged layers of the  camper van and the surfers. Have fun, everyone, sorry I won't be seeing you again for two weeks, with us going to a fortnightly blog, but I will be visiting everyone of you who enter . Enjoy your seaside memories.
